First reported by <em>Electrek<\/em>, under the \u201cdue today\u201d section of the Cybertruck\u2019s order page it now reads \u201cyou will be able to complete your configuration as production nears in 2022.\u201d This appears to apply to the single- dual- and tri-motor versions of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p id=\"MuWtJf\">The delay isn\u2019t a huge surprise to those who have been following Cybertruck news closely. When Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled it in 2019, the plan called for the first Cybertrucks to roll off the assembly line in late 2021. In January during Tesla\u2019s fourth-quarter earnings call, Musk said there would be a \u201cfew deliveries of the Cybertruck toward the end of this year, but I expect volume production to be in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-read-more__intro\">\n    Related\n  <\/p>\n<h4>Tesla Cybertruck will get up to 500 miles of range and start at $39,900<\/h4>\n<\/aside>\n<p id=\"Z7IgDc\">Last month during its second-quarter earnings call, Tesla\u2019s VP of vehicle engineering Lars Moravy said the Cybertruck was \u201cat a stage where we finished basic engineering of the architecture of the vehicle,\u201d adding that it was \u201cmoving into the beta phases of Cybertruck later this year.\u201d So it seemed unlikely at that point that Cybertrucks would be shipping in 2021.
